Piotr Grzechowski

Piotr Grzechowski – born in 1986, holds a degree in Political Science. For many years, he pursued a professional career in the financial and banking sectors. What initially began as a personal passion quickly evolved into an intensive and consciously developed artistic practice. Just six months after completing his first painting, he decided to change his professional path and devote himself entirely to painting.

A self-taught artist, Grzechowski has developed an exceptional interest in the craft of painting, particularly its technical aspects. This has led him to acquire extensive knowledge of the properties and behaviour of pigments, binders, grounds and varnishes, as well as the physical and chemical interactions between different materials. He also shares this expertise with fellow artists, including internationally recognised practitioners with formal academic training in art. In addition, he publishes articles on painting techniques, materials and artistic practice, including contributions to Andrew Tischler’s Academy.

His artistic practice focuses primarily on landscape painting rooted in the realist tradition. In 2023, he began collaborating with galleries in the United States, and between 2023 and 2026, more than 70 of his paintings were sold on the American market.

Craftsmanship also plays an important role in his practice. Grzechowski often creates the frames for his paintings himself, rather than using ready-made mouldings. He carries out the entire process, from working with raw timber to completing the finished frame. The frames are made using traditional techniques and gilded with genuine gold leaf.
