Hanna Kłopotowska – a graduate of the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. She creates paintings and pastel works, using the richness of colour as her primary means of artistic expression.
A hallmark of her work is the use of electrifying colours and her distinctive approach to chromatic chiaroscuro. The central subject of Hanna Kłopotowska’s art is the human figure, particularly portraiture, which serves as a space for her personal interpretation of the European and Polish portrait tradition. Through the juxtaposition of contrasting warm and cool tones, she constructs compositions that are rich in expression and emotional intensity.
Her artistic practice is inspired by the Polish Colourist tradition and by artists for whom colour was not merely a means of expression, but a subject of art in itself. Among her greatest inspirations are Raphael, Paul Gauguin, and Zofia Stryjeńska.
As Hanna Kłopotowska emphasizes, engaging with the reality of painting nurtures sensitivity and allows for a deeper understanding of the world of emotions. Through careful attention to form and the use of pure, vibrant colours, she creates a positive visual language intended to move, uplift, and inspire the viewer.
The artist has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her works are held in private collections, and she maintains close relationships with a wide circle of collectors.
